Somnambulistic – Films and Music

The musician Alan Emslie set up ‘Somnambulistic Films & Music’ to create thought-provoking films with stimulating music.

Alan’s first film, entitled ‘Somnambulistic’ was filmed in France, Norway, Iceland and Scotland and is an exploration of ‘black’ and the way in which light reflects and reacts with it.

All the music in the film is performed and recorded by Alan Emslie including works by Exowst Scotland, Plastic Noose, Joby Longyin and J.S. Bach.

The filmmaker made this film as though the viewer is walking through an art gallery, carefully letting the images suggest meaning.

‘Somnambulistic’ is set for release in Autumn 2026.

Alan’s second film, entitled ‘Biophilia’, has been completed and will be released in Spring 2027.
